First, thanks for sharing this.

I'm one of those people who left Christianity. I'm a lesbian, I'm a feminist, and I'm a Socialist, and I really had a hard time with a lot of what I was taught growing up in the churches I was a part of. And yeah, I went through that phase of being kind of bitter about Christianity and organized religion in general.

But at the same time, I've also known some really great Christians and there is activist stuff I've been a part of and victories that wouldn't have happened without those folks. I'm trying to remember that it's really only certain factions within Christianity that I'm angry at

This is why I'm grateful that I have found a liberal-leaning inclusive Catholic church where I can worship God without feeling angry at the system.
